Carla Gordon wears a wardrobe of cabaret hats. Not only a singer/songwriter, performer, and director, Carla is also currently the most active regular writer for Chicago cabaret in the cabaret press. She is the Midwest reporter for Cabaret Scenes Magazine, Cabaret Exchange and Cabaret Hotline, and she reports on cabaret for Gay Chicago Magazine.
Carla has performed to sold out audiences at Davenport's in Hotsie-Totsie--A Salute to Miss Sophie Tucker and in The Brice Is Right. Upcoming cabaret projects include On the Money--Songs on Everyone's SECOND Favorite Subject.
Gordon's original, inspirational ballad, The Voice In Your Heart closed the 2007 Cabaret Conference at Yale. Her CD of the same name is available on CD Baby. She serves as a Publicity Governor on the Board of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals and directs CCP-produced performances, such as Cabaret Canteen--Music That Got Us Through at Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place.
