Paul Hamilton
Pianist/Arranger
A native of Savannah Georgia now residing in Chicago, Paul received is Bachelors and Masters of Music in Piano Performance from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia and did post-graduate study at the Conservatory of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia. Paul's musical direction and composition/arranging credits include musical theatre productions at The Goodman and Bailiwick Repertory Theatres in Chicago , Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook , Illinois , The Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson , Wisconsin , and GMT Productions in Rome , Georgia . In addition, he has served as music director for the Rome Boys Choir and the Shorter College Chorale and is currently the choral director at Lake View Lutheran Church in Chicago . Paul also has been seen as accompanist to several vocalists, instrumentalists, chamber and orchestral groups, including the Ravinia Festival, the American Opera Group, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera and Leontyne Price Opera auditions, the Tokyo International Oboe competition, and many others. An original CD of Paul's piano compositions, entitled Beneath the Archives was released in 1993 and aired on National Public Radio nationwide. His original musicals, including Sadako and a Thousand Cranes , The Emperor's New Clothes and Alice in Wonderland , all written with librettist Gail Deschamps, are currently touring the United States with GMT Productions of Rome, Georgia. |
